Cautious Clay, also known by Joshua Karpeh is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter out of Brooklyn, New York. He picked up flute at the age of seven, leading him into blues and jazz as he developed his songwriting and production skills.

After living a standard white-collar life, Karpeh was done working in real estate and advertising. He quit his job and pursued music as a full time operation. He’s toured next to Alina Baraz, put on a show for NPR’s Tiny Desk, and released two EPs. All eyes are on Karpeh as his tour begins tomorrow.

Pondering his future releases, Karpeh has no plans of binding himself to a record. “I’m fiercely independent, but also ready for anything,” he told Complex. “This is the life I chose.” Keep your eyes on Cautious Clay.
