HEADY EP – REAPER
On June 19th, Los Angeles based artist REAPER released the “HEADY EP” following his “REAPER EP” released in 2016. 19-year-old JJ Scheff, a former engineer, is the man behind the dream-like sound and production of REAPER. Scheff has built upon the sound from his first EP and explored with more melodic and psychedelic vocals in the “HEADY EP”.
I have been listening to the this one quite a bit since it released. Through seven tracks, Scheff takes you on a carefully crafted journey that goes from loud distorted bass to soft piano with transitions between all accompanied by personal and emotional lyrics. Before you know it the EP is over and you can’t wait to press play again.
After countless listens of the “HEADY EP”, it has solidified itself the most original and favorite albums of the year for me. I’m very excited to see Scheff grow and continue to do what he loves.
