downinthep.it is a team of highly music-oriented writers, photographers, and podcasters who can’t get enough of the indie/alt scene. downinthep.it is YOUR source for indie and alternative buzz. Our team LOVES to get to know smaller artists on a personal level, and we love nothing more than providing up-to-date, accurate information about the music scene that we all know and love.

This is kind of like a job… but also an opportunity to be a representative for the brand. You’re our feet on the ground, and you’re able to pass on the name and what we do at downinthep.it.

You also have the pretty awesome opportunity to score some tickets to shows, meet your favorite artists, and more. If this sounds like something you’d dig, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a non-paid position. We are a team who writes and maintains this blog on the side.

Here’s what you’d be doing:

Representing the brand of downinthep.it
Writing (at least once weekly) pieces to submit to the blog
Scoring free press tickets to your favorite shows
- (then writing concert reviews or interviewing the artists)
Possible design work, podcasting, etc. (if interest is shown)

What You Will Learn:

Relationship building with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
How to track social media analytics and schedule posts using HootSuite.
Create compelling content that will be shared by influencers.
Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.

What We Require:

Strong communication skills.
Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
Creative and Flexible.
Familiarity with social networking sites desired (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
Interest in management and community development.
Preferred: Familiarity with WordPress, Slack.
Preferred: You’re a current college student with at least two years left.
