Michigander: The Voice of the Midwest
As a native Ohioan with a family pride in Michigan, I naturally felt drawn to the music that I saw came from Michigander. This solo indie rock act stars Jason Singer at its core, a man from Michigan who stays true to his roots, becoming an indie staple of the midwest music scene. With a desire to say something and move around, his unique music gives him the medium to sing those things and an audience who will listen to them.
Ever since his hit debut single “Nineties” released in 2016, he’s been perfecting his sound and gaining recognition with his debut EP Midland in March 2018 and his latest single and music video “Tunnel.” Michigander has played alongside names such as Solange, Alt-J, and Foster the People, building his small-town title and continuing to grow his national success. His storytelling skills mesh with his energetic and distinct sound that is refined with every new single he releases.
Michigander makes honest music with his stunning voice that captivates the entire room, whether it is in a small Sofar Sounds room or a larger venue. He’s currently on tour with a full band to accompany his voice around Michigan and the Midwest, with a new EP set to be released in 2019.
