NIGHTLY took to the internet last week to share that they had signed a new record deal with BMG. Last year, the band hinted at “challenges and circumstances” they were enduring that led to the postponement of their fall headline tour. Fans had speculated about label trouble, but the band stayed quiet until last Thursday, where they confirmed their struggles in Notes app screenshots posted to Facebook.
“In August of last year,” the post reads,” we made a post about going through challenges as a band. As some of you probably guessed, a majority of those challenges were label related. It took us months to work through, and it was tough, but we did the only thing we knew how to in those tough times; we made music. We released a couple songs independently and did a headline tour and nearly the entire thing sold out. The support from you has been overwhelming and has carried/inspired us every day.
And guess what? Labels started calling. However, in all of our meetings, there was one company that stood out and wanted to support OUR vision and allow us to put OUR FANS first. That being said, we’re so happy to announce that we have signed with BMG. Thank you to the BMG team for believing in us, and most importantly we want to thank you, our fans. None of this would be possible without you. So what’s next? New music, sky’s the limit <3″
The post dawns a similar caption to one that the band shared in August of last year.
“The last month,” the post reads,” we’ve faced several challenges and circumstances completely out of our control. Not gonna lie, it’s been one of the hardest months we’ve had since this band started. Bc of these circumstances we will unfortunately postpone our fall headline tour. I promise that even though this sucks, big things are coming. Throughout this last month the thing that has kept us going is you. Despite not posting anything in a month, we have more listeners/plays/views than we have ever had. Every time we log on we’re blown away by the love and support you have for our music. The best thing about our band has always been our fans and without you we would not be here.
The crazy thing about adversity is that it makes you stronger, and that’s exactly how we feel. Stronger, more forcused, and more thankful. Thanks for being the best fans a band could ask for. Big announement next week <3″
